The SCOSIT Hackathon

Are you a coder? Are you passionate about programming? Are you a blogger? Do you want the chance to network with the IT market leaders?

Here is your chance. The SCOSIT hackathon is a great opportunity to showcase your skills, win some really good great stuff and possibly land an internship opportunity or a job.

Location Details

Date – 28th of October, 2011

Time – 7.00 p.m. to 6.00 a.m.

Venue – Hall 7 4th floor room D3

Snacks will be available all night. There will also be a group of guys to help whenever you are stuck.

Using selected APIs to build real world applications

The core APIs at the moment are:

We also have the following supplementary APIs

  • Maps API – Google Maps, Open Street Maps
  • Facebook API
  • Twitter API

Rules

  • You can works in groups of not more than 3 people. You can still work alone but we are encouraging participants to work as teams.
  • Ideas will be picked from a bunch selected by the sponsors

Prizes

  1. 1st prize – Three 520GB external hard drives
  2. 2nd prize – Three 250GB external hard drives
  3. 3rd prize – Three 3G Orange internet modems

Medic Mobile will doing an interview for two interns. This will involve a sms based application task.At the end of the hackathon they will pick the interns.

How can you be part of this?

For logistics purposes we are requesting people to register for the event. To register just send an email with you details to scosit.icsit[at]gmail.com. This will help us to plan well for the event.

What if I am not a coder?

The event is not exclusive to coders. If you are a blogger you can live blog at the event. If you would like to network with people this can be a good opportunity so just make sure you show up.
